I. Travel

Sofia Airport - Terminal 1 - Departures
Airline tickets are electronic - group ticket.
When you are to the check in desk you must show only ID card or passport - your ticket is already in the system.

Departure

All you have to be to the old airport terminal two hours before the flight, at 04.00 am – don’t be late.
Because Wizz Air close check-in desk  at 05.10 pm arrived and if you are late it will be impossible to board the plane!
Remember – this isn’t a Bulgarian company, so we can not affect them!
Your manager will wait for you to the check-in desk- follow the information on departing flights - SEARCH - company name, flight number and time to find out who you are check-in.

Baggage

You can carry up to 20 kg. Checked baggage allowance and 7-10 kg. hand luggage. In hand luggage don’t carry any liquids / min water, juices, etc.. /.
If they are sealed in special packaging bag can carry, perfumes, toothpaste, creams, etc.
Avoid metal objects in your bag / nail file, etc. / as well as your clothes / this is just for convenience / - boots with big buckles, etc., because we will be thoroughly checked / you and your luggage / in both directions. Lighter could be confiscated! Don’t worry if they want to take out your belt or your shoes - is routine. Don’t bring any food. In airplane you can buy water, tea, coffee, juices.

The flight is approximately 3 hours.

Bring your cameras.

Group Meeting - 04.00 pm September 19 - Terminal 1 departures.

NOTE - The group will not wait for anyone outside of the time.

We will not  landing at the international airport in Brussels, we will lend to the airport which is 60 km from the city. The airport is small and duty-free zone is not large, so don’t search about any gifts you can buy when we return from the city. In advanced for your travel to and from the airport is  committed a bus for the whole group.

After taking the group from the airport the bus will drive you to the hotel.

Accommodation is name by name, so it can take time. A group leader will require your ID card or passport  with which you registered at the hotel. Note that it is possible to have to wait a while in the lobby of the hotel. We arrived early and could not have clean all of the rooms.

Day 1
Monday, September 19, 2011

07:55 - Arrival in Brussels
9:30 - Check-in

Free program

Free day you will have the opportunity to explore the city. Advance if you can observe landmarks that you want to visit. Information can be obtained from the reception as the accompanying person is not a guide, and servant of the Cabinet of Slavi Binev and is not familiar with the routes.

We recommend to see: Grand Place, Manneken Pis and the cathedral. For those who want to shop for groceries shopping street called - Rue Neuve / Nieuwstraat. Keep your luggage - do not leave your phone or anything else in the tables in the restaurants.

You can explore the city and the sights and walk to Bruges, known as the second Venice.

Metro is almost outside the hotel and have connections to all major attractions of Brussels and Bruges and Antwerp.The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk to the center. / Grand place /

Day 2
Tuesday, September 20, 2011

7:00 - Breakfast at the hotel.
8:00 - Bus from hotel to EP. The group must be in the hotel lobby at 7.45 pm
8:30 - screened for entry into the premises of the EP
09:00 to 10:30 - Presentation by Mr. George Tomov - a representative of the department "Visits and Seminars" to the EP. Hall - PHS 4V49. Visit the plenary.
12:00 - Lunch - previously reserved a restaurant near the EP.
14:30 to 15:30 - Presentation of the program of Garry Kasparov "chess school" hall PHS A1 EP 002

  • Welcoming address by Mr. Slavi Binev - host of the event
  • Introduction of the program - Mr. Silvio Danailov - President of the European Chess Federation
  • Presentations of the program "Chess in School" - Garry Kasparov

AFTER CLOSING EVENT will have FREE night, in which you can see BRUSSELS in the NIGHT. City Centre can be reached by Metro or by bus. Rosalia will give a pre-printed map of the subway stations that are marked, which will take you by the European Parliament to the center and to the hotel.

Day 3
Wednesday, September 21, 2011

05:30 - Bus from hotel to airport.
8:15 - Aircraft for Sofia

RETURN
No later than 5.15 am, on September 21 - all of you should be ready with your luggage and wait for the bus in the hotel lobby, which will pass through the hotel to take them.

The hotel is located near downtown and breakfast is included. The hotel is three star. Please if you have specific requirements during their stay there, to contact management.

IV. On visit to European Parliament

The purpose of the visit is to explore the building and working environment of Parliament, to explore the structure and activity as an institution. Will attend the lecture for you and will visit the plenary hall where votes are held by MEPs. All will have the opportunity to take a photos at the flags of Member States, after the lecture.

Extract of the Rules of Procedure for visitor groups:

Visitors will be asked to pass through security check similar to this, as is the airport. All handbags, cameras, etc. should be placed on the bar and scanned.
Please do not carry knives or scissors.
During the plenary sessions, visitors will be asked to leave large bags, umbrellas, coats, etc. a wardrobe. Usually the whole group gets a single ticket.
At other times, visitors can leave their belongings in storage if they wish. The things are left on their own responsibility. European Parliament isn’t  responsible if something is loss, theft or damage. It is recommended  visitors to take their valuables  with them  all the time or leave them in the bus.
If for the group are issued upon entry into Parliament, they should be visible throughout the visit.
When you're on the balcony for the visitors in the Chamber and currently hold a meeting, please note:

  • i is strictly prohibited clapping hands, quote and any other events that show approval or disapproval during the debate and vote.
  • i take pictures and movies in the Chamber during a meetings are not allowed.
  • i Eating, drinking and smoking in the Chamber are prohibited.
  • i Mobile phones must be switched off.

All other costs are your expense. Bring your euro from Bulgaria - do not rely on exchange in Brussels. If possible, bring small bills by 5 to 10 and 20 euros.

We encourage everyone to make health insurance in Bulgaria. If you need to use it in no way agree to pay for their expenses in a hospital under the pretext that you will be refunded. What you need to do is just to show her and her insurance number.
