Grandmaster Garry Kasparov introduce the program “Chess in school” in Brussels. Sports Without Borders Foundation and Mr. Slavi Binev organized the event. Education Commissioner Androulla Vassiliou and Bulgarian representative to the Commission - Ms Kristalina Georgieva committed to support and promote of Kasparov’s program.
Strongest interest was the chess tournament, which was attended by 16 Bulgarian children who went to Brussels to meet and play with the legendary chess player Mr. Garry Kasparov. It was organized by Sports Without Borders Foundation and Mr. Slavi Binev. Bulgarian Sports Federation for Children Deprived of Parental Care (BSFDLRG) sent two children from an orphanage DDLRG "Velika and George Chenchevi" - Sevlievo.
Children, also had the opportunity to play with Judit Polgar. One of them - Kiril Petrov Goranov from social home "Velika and George Chenchevi" managed to checkmate the champion.
Among the VIP guests were the President of the European Chess Federation Silvio Danailov, Jan Kaleuard, businessman and president of the Kasparov Foundation - Belgium, Plamen Mollov, chairman of the Bulgarian Chess Federation and Judit Polgar.
After the tournament was held a press conference, attended a lot of Bulgarian and foreign media.
